Article on Fox Sports about how Rose has signed a bunch of balls with "I'm sorry I bet on baseball" that are going up for sale.

Quote:
Pete Rose might have hit an all-time low when he signed a bunch of baseballs with: "I'm sorry I bet on baseball," according to an exclusive report in the New York Daily News.

And Watchung, N.J.-based auction house Robert Edwards Auctions reportedly plans to sell 30 of the baseballs for a mere $1,000 a pop.

"This is where the baseball collectibles field has impact on the history of the game," said Rob Lifson, president of Robert Edward Auctions told the Daily News. "The collectibles field is not just shadowing the game — it's affecting its history."

It could be the start of a trend. Albert Belle could sign baseballs "I'm sorry I tried to run down trick or treaters with my car."

Players could use baseballs to scribble their thoughts on just about anything and to anyone. It could be the new brick with a note attached to it.

"I'm sorry I slept with your wife."
"I'm sorry I aired my frustrations to the press when you benched me for one game."
"I'm sorry, honey, but I want a divorce."
"I'm sorry I can't hit my weight anymore."
"I'm sorry you jumped into McCovey Cove and got your wallet wet for this stupid baseball."
"I'm sorry I'm not the player I used to be."
"I'm sorry you spent your hard earned cash to watch this."

Oh and, "I'm sorry we accidentally turned off your service so you didn't have TV or Internet access for 3 whole days over the weekend."

Friggin' Cox can kiss my fat, white, white ass.

a doubly white ass, eh? Confused

my all time favorite fake ball signing was an onion article, where gary sheffield signed a little boy's ball: "dear johnny, you have no idea how hard it is to be a black man in america today. yours, gary sheffield."
