i like the idea of bringing back gonzo, IF he only hits righties, will actually TRY to mentor the kids, and can actually try to refrain from undercutting management to the press everytime he gets a little upset.

but that ain't gonna happen. and it won't be hairston. and shoe's right -- byrnes will cost too much for too little. davanon plus who, then?

on the mlb board last night i was talking to someone and asked about signing byrnes to a cheapish contract, then trading him before the start of the season to somebody. is that possible?

A potato? hmm...

Mr McCray, I must make note of this.

Would you consider participating in a case study?

Am I the only one who went to the game?

Like the boxscore suggests, it was all kids (+ Livan). Young made a nice play on the ball Johnson hit ~400 feet, and Quentin's catch was very impressive - he tracked the ball, then timed his leap just right. I understand why some people like Byrnes' 'hustle', but I'll take a in-control player like Quentin any day of the week.

Man oh man! Sounds like Carlos Quentin made quite a catch to end the second inning! Those of you fortunate enough to have seen it will need to tell us more...

A picture's worth 1,000 words. See how far above Carlos' glove the ball is...

When all was said and done, he caught it over the fence to steal a HR. Quentin and Young are going to produce quite a few legitimate highlight reels over the next few years.

Sounds like CoJack is getting this big-league hitting figured out! His 13th HR gives us a 1-0 lead! Sweet! And the future looks bright...

CQ made a fantastic grab to rob the Nats a homer. I thought that play set the tone for the rest of the game. Hernandez pitched a great game with Synder behind the plate.
