One nice little side result from today...

Snyder has not caught Webb too many times this season. Hopefully Webby will feel more confident throwing to Snyder in the future.

Drew has played in 125 games this year. While that does not exactly put him in iron man territory, it is far and away the most games he has ever played in a season, and this is actually his first FULL professional year.

I'd cut him a little slack. It's September 10th. It's tough playing Shortstop every day.

i don't blame drew; i just think the kid's in a patch of shitty luck right now. hand, fever, groin, all right in a row. if the season were a little longer, and this pace of bad luck kept up, he would spontanously combust. that's all i'm sayin'. Wink

It's uncanny how Drew became so fragile the instant Counsell was activated.

From his promotion on July 15th to Counsell's activation on August 23rd, Drew started all but five games for the D-backs. Four of those games were against LHSP.

From August 23rd to present, Drew has started only seven out of fifteen games.

Yes, it's total bullshit. CC hasn't done shit to get his job back (other than the tonight). Counting his 2 hits last night he's 3-32.

Interesting fact: the roof was open the last two days. Yes, the weather was different but could it have anything to do with the new president?

Also, today's game was the shortest in Chase Field history (does that include when it was BOB?) We actually delayed putting the baby to bed to finish the game.

Drew really has been hurting. It's not Melvin making excuses. Of course he would have sat a few games here and there, but not this many. No conspiracies. Drew has not been able to post up.

I tend to think that Drew is exhausted right now. This is the most baseball he's played in a season, ever. I'd rather see the team take it cautiously with him

On top of the season he had spring ball, Winter ball somewhere and played in the AFL so he has been going non stop here for over a year now.

I hope it is 'just' exhaustion. The last thing the team needs to do is jerk around Drew, and I really hope he's not going to sit out every time a mosquito looks at him funny like big brother.
