did counsell come back from the DL too soon?

He's a gamer that has always outperformed his "tools" and I'd like to see him on our 25 man as a super utility as I think he still has the D and can help the young talant grow.

I feel that he can play all 4 IF positions unfortunatly, he is probably still too good to be an super utility and someone will sign him as an everyday.

Counsell said (in the interview with Piecoro, IIRC) that he wants to play every day...

We thoroughly enjoyed last night's game, as seen from the RF bleachers -- where we had an excellent view of both Quetin's sliding catch and Young's shoestringer. Livan had 'em baffled throughout; about the fifth inning, IIRC, the Cardinal fans behind us commented that, so far, they only had one hit, and that was Encarnacion's HR. (They had a good laugh when, following Clark's pathetic AB, I hollered, "Clark, you stink!")

The only "down side" to the game (apart from not seeing Webb, and Counsell in for Drew) was Gonzo going 3-for-3 and his 48th double, and the IBB. A "fantastic finish" to the season, along the lines of these past two games, and the FO is going to be under a lot of pressure from the average fans to extend Gonzo for another year.

Congrats to Hank on his first win. I knew you could do it.

You were the first to predict it.
