According to Newsday, the Mets have fired hitting coach Rick Down and replaced him with Rickey Henderson.

Instead of going with Rickey Henderson, the Mets will make first-base coach Howard Johnson the hitting coach in place of Rick Down.
Henderson will replace Johnson as the first-base coach.
