A poster on the MLB board is having difficulty registering/logging in here:

Following is message he posted on "2007 Roster and Payroll Projections" thread:

I like the DBBP alot. No azphan's here or anything of the like.

For some reason whenever I try to login there it says "this email has been banned". And when I tried to reregister (didn't matter what email I used, I even made one up) it said the same thing. Not sure how they can ban an email that doesn't exist......

I didn't do anything wrong, so unsure of how to fix it. Any help would be appreciated. Now that baseball is over (for Dbacks at least), I need all the baseball fixes I can get

John, shoot me an email with his details and we'll see if we can fix it.

Thx.

Was it yahoo.com email addresses? If so, I had to put a block on *all* those, as our beloved pr0n spammer was using apparently-random Yahoo addresses to register. He seems to have left for the moment, so I've taken the block on those off, and they should be usable again. Hurry, before the spammer notices! Wink

I got the same message when sending a PM but the PM did go through. Check your outbox and sentbox to see if your message went through in spite of the error message.

K... might've gone through then (in triplicate since Outbox has that message in there 3 times). Nothing in my Sent box.... but it was listed as 100% full.

You can delete the two duplicate messages in your outbox. It won't show in your sentbox until the recipient opens your message.

Count me among those who got the "debug" error message when trying to send a private message...

And my apologies to the person who got, like, five copies of the same message... Shocked

Something up on the server side, I think, which is blocking the board from sending email out. As some people have already worked out, this doesn't actually stop the PM from being delivered [that's stored in the database and doesn't go through email], but the notification email to the recipient that a PM for them has arrived is what's causing the problem.

A trouble ticket has been submitted to our hosting company. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.

It should be fixed now, according to the hosting company - and the test message I just sent went through without a problem.

Next up, the database reliability issue... [Readies cattle prod Evil or Very Mad] On that note, I have installed a tweak so you get something a little prettier that a white screen with a scary error message if the DB is unreachable. The issue remains, but at least it's less frightening. I'm working on getting the page to play soothing music. Wink

Too funny. Right after I posted, I had a second thought about having none of Zamfir and that damn pan flute (but decided not to edit) Laughing
