This has to be the WORST televised baseball broadcast of all time! At least when Harry Caray went several innings without even commenting on the game... he was drunk! |

I'm there. It took me a while to come around but Enrique has nothing. It's time to shut him down for the season--maybe for good. |

enrique has filthy nasty stuff, or at least he had that kind of stuff. now it's flat and slow. so i think it's a rest issue, and he's just cooked for the year. i think he's a real keeper for the rotation next season though.

Shut Enrique down for mop up duty and put Cruz back in rotation. See how Enrique is next year. |

Jim Bouton claimed in Ball 4 that this is the word that guarantees your immediate removal from a game.

That was referenced also in Bull Durham ... but I wish I could remember the source--it was some umpire (either in print or interview) who said that the REAL magic word was "YOU" as in:
OK versions:
1. Where was that ball?
2. That looked like it was outside?
Auto ejection version:
"YOU missed that call!"

Here you go...

What gets a player or coach tossed out of a game? American League Umpire Joe West says that while profanity will do it for him, it varies with each umpire. Except for one word. Not a four letter word. A three letter word: "You". "It's been an unwritten rule for years," American League Umpire Mike DiMuro says. "If somebody gets personal, they've crossed the line. They can come out and say that call was terrible. But once they say you're terrible, now they've crossed the line." |

Tomorrw, right after BP.
Seriously though, it would be nice if everyone could just quit pretending that Gonzo will be back in LF next season and give him the proper sendoff that he's earned in his years as a DBack. He does need to be spelled occasionally, so he needs to quit acting as though he's protecting his turf for next year. I'd like to be able to show my appreciation for all he's done for and with AZ during his time here, but the present charades don't allow that to happen.

Gonzo will explain that fans shouldn't judge the results due to small sample size. (He had no hits in only three at bats, so it's not significant that Young got a hit in his PH role). He will go on about how the front office doesn't show him the proper respect by ORDERING BoMel to PH for him against his wishes even on the night that his placque raised over $100,000 for MD.

I thought it didn't look that bad when you watch the replay. Now watching fielders collide and full speed in super slow-mo looks really painful.

The Mike Cameron collision in the Mets outfield last season was the scariest shit ive seen on a baseball field in my short history.
