Josh Byrnes is definitely kicking ass and taking names.

He just flew through last years mistakes as fast as he could (without making his bosses admit they're complete idiots), and got as much as he could for some, and unloaded the the rest...

His new nickname should be Winston Wolf...

Byrnes (over the phone): How many contracts? How much salary? How many years?

Writes on his pad:
Ortiz (fat)
Green (slow)
No money

Byrnes: I'm 30 minutes away, I'll be there in 10...

Zephon, Tony Pena wasn't traded away -- he's still a Diamondback.

And that was a shame tonight. Crying or Very sad

However let me add my suck-up to Josh. Very impressive job in such a short time. Glad to have you at the helm!

I've got one more big job for Byrnes in the off-season.

DFA or "trade" away Brennaman and Grace.

After years of abuse under Joe Jr., what a relief to have the franchise guided by his Holiness Josh Byrnes!!!

Yeah, quite a few good moves for us, given where we are. Hope Byrnes keeps it up.

Do they have any options left? Maybe we could demote them to AAA Tucson and have them work on their delivery.

Maybe they don't but surely Byrnes does. I don't care how he does it, just so they are GONE!

What's up is, IMHO, Melvin is an incompetent game manager. His strength as a manager seems to be in "handling" personalities instead of in-game strategy. Soothing egos is his game.

He doesn't give Gonze days off because Gonzo will pout, call a press conference, and bitch. Better to keep him mollified.

He doesn't keep CQ in the lineup because he's a rookie.

He keeps Byrnes in CF despite calling Young up to give Byrnes a rest; then moves Byrnes to RF and "rests" CQ instead!

He keeps Byrnes in the leadoff spot despite his distaste of taking a walk and his poor string of ABs lately. Sure, he got a 2-run single yesterday, swinging at a pitch at the bill of his cap!

He has had no clue on how to handle his bullpen ALL YEAR! Now the poor babies are all worn out and he has hardly anyone to turn to at all.

He kept using Medders game after game after game and now Medders looks like he's suffering the Villarreal syndrome. Let's remember: Melvin was Brenly's bench coach during THAT fiasco, which makes one wonder if
Brenly didn't take Melvin's advice much too often.

He cannot seem to motivate ANYONE on this team and perhaps that is not all his fault. However, that should be a recognized part of the manager's job, IMO.

I could go on and on but what's the use? Josh Byrnes has made his biggest mistake by far to date in extending Biff's contract, especially before this season ended and a better review of Melvin's overall performance could be made.
