Daily News Story

Rotoworlds take:

Quote:
The New York Daily News is reporting that Tom Glavine may have a blood clot or a "knot" in an artery near his left shoulder.

Glavine, who noticed coldness in a finger on his throwing hand, will have a CT scan on Monday and is scheduled for an angiogram on Wednesday. If he has a "knot" in the shoulder it would require surgery which would likely end his season. A clot might be able to be dissolved which would only cause him to miss a couple starts. If Glavine's season is over, the Mets become slightly more beatable in the first round of the playoffs.

Whoa! Pedro questionable... Glavine questionable... Mets no longer a shoe-in to advance. Whatever mediocre NL team gets a hot streak going at the right time will get through.

Doesn't the WC team play the team with the best record in their league in the 1st Rd?

They do... as long as the WC team is NOT from the same division as the team with the best record or if the WC team is NOT from the same division as the team with the second best record.

As of right now... I feel the D backs best chance to make the playoffs is via the wild card.

BP playoff odds reports:

Regular Report: Div 11.09, WC 11.38 Total 22.48

Pecota Report: Div 9.81, WC 10.97 Total 20.79

Elo Report: Div 18.85, WC 8.82 Total 27.68

Nothing against Glavine but I love it. The Mets are so great at finding ways to collapse.
