I forgot to mention this.
Last year, I took the family to the "Fan Fest" at Chase, and it was an excellent time. Among other things, they offered a chance to meet the players, take a tour of the park (and clubhouse), some free stuff, a chance to hit in the cages (with instruction from a couple of the hitting coaches) in the basement, and some other things for the kids... They had some open forums too, for fans to ask questions to the players, and management...
Overall, a great time..
This year's is scheduled for Feb 24th. A note of caution, i got this from an email from the FO, and havent seen it anywhere on the site...
Thought id get it out there... |

What do you have to do to go? Does it cost much? |

I believe it was free... I could be wrong, but im pretty sure...
I think they try to keep it relatively quiet, to avoid mobs (just a theory) |

Funny story, that im somewhat embarrased to admit.
For some reason, i decided to get some autographs for the kids The players i got autographs of:
1. Vargas
2. Estrada
3. Mulhalland
4. Donut boy
5. A green
No joke... those were the only ones...
This year, the only autograph im going for is EByrnes... |

Do you remember what time of day it started last year?

It sounds like a fun thing to take the familty to. Our girl was amazed by the ballpark when we took her to a couple games last year. |

There are some here that might pay you to seek out Bo-Mel's autograph as well.

I agree.... my kids loved it... the best part, was that it was not very crowded - you could just walk around wherever, sit down, relax at the park... catch an interview if you want... nice and relaxing...

That sounds like a pretty awesome function. I've heard of it, but not what it exactly was. Frickin sweet. I'm there.

Pretty sure it was 10 to 2 last year. Also, the D-backs have a caravan going around the state with some nice autograph opportunities (Tuscons to Show Low to Globe to Tempe, etc., meaning everyone in AZ should have a chance to see them).

no problem. BTW they also had a chance for you to broadcast the bottom of the ninth inning of Game 7 in one of the booths - pretty cool experience, I've gottta say. |

Sounds like a great time for the family.
Reminds me of the only time I asked my wife to get an autograph of a Diamondback player(She was into the autograph thing for awhile during spring training since the Diamondbacks were here first introduction to MLB.). Anyway, it was Brad Penny. This was 1999, the year after he was named MVP of the California League, which was a big accomplishment since no pitcher had been the MVP of the league in something like 20 years. And his stats were eye popping...207K in 164 IP with only 35 BB. Thought maybe he was gonna be a HOF pitcher, but ya just never know. |

Doesn't look like the option of touring the ballpark/clubhouse is available this year. When do we find out which players will be giving autographs?
