Take a look at THIS THREAD and you'll see answers from matt, baldmaga, Otacon, shoewizard, and Steve Gilbert.

Young
Hudson
Drew
CoJack
Tracy
Quentin
Byrnes
Snyder/Montero
We all know Byrnes will bat higher than #7 on a regular basis but this is the lineup card that I'd fill out on a daily basis. I think Drew can handle the pressure of batting #3. I look for CoJack to hit for more power this year, 24-28 HRs. I look for the Tracy of 2005 to come back and post a .310/28/100 year.
Looking for Hudson and Byrnes #s to fall off of their 2006 totals. |

I think Steve Gilbert's lineup is in tune with how Bob Melvin thinks. I definitely expect Melvin to stick Tracy/Byrnes in the 3/4 slots. Look at how long Gonzo batted third. Melvin is loyal to his veteran players.
CF Chris Young
2B Orlando Hudson
3B Chad Tracy
LF Eric Byrnes
1B Conor Jackson
RF Carlos Quentin
SS Stephen Drew
C Miguel Montero/Chris Snyder

That's one of the worst lineups one could use given our available talent, but I'm afraid you are right on.

what he said.
it's not easy to put together a sub-optimal lineup with this talent, but if this is the lineup that melvin comes up with on opening day, the "anti-melvin" crowd on this board will have a field day

Is there a "Pro" melvin crowd?
I think there is "anti", and perhaps ambivalent....I doubt there is actually a "pro" though.
