This is a simple game.. you throw the ball, you hit the ball, you catch the ball.
The DH does...what...only one of these things?
If they are craptastic fielders and can't make it up with the bat then they belong at Sears selling Lady Kenmores.
again though, loogies don't do them all, either.
to me, the DH screams of the way you played sandlot baseball with friends who were injured. like you'd let the kid with his foot in a boot take some swings in the batter's box, but if he hit it, someone else would sprint towards first for him. not quite the same, but similar -- the way if you sucked bad, someone else would take that aspect of the game over for you.
i sorta dislike the DH. but i like baseball with both styles, and i like watching the WS switch.

Hank, you're dead to me.
In the NL if you use a loogie ( or any other RP ) you either have to use a double switch or get lucky enough to have your pitcher due up in your half of the inning or stay with the guy on the hill. You generally burn at least one bench guy and/or a starting position player in the process.
In the AL, who gives a shit. You can pluck pitchers at will without affecting the rest of your line up.
So, maybe the DH causes a greater use of a loogie?
