You're right, because today crap is just fine. Crap can get you into the playoffs because so many teams have even crappier pitching. Gotta love the steroid era... there's no more quality pitching anymore.

As long as our "crap" is better than the other team's "crap," we still win. We're not playing against a team from the dead ball era, we're playing teams from now. Our stats compared with old stats really doesn't matter this season.

OK, I have to say this, but only because it's being made an issue on the MLB board...
In the movie, The Wizard of Oz, as the Wizard is preparing to leave the Emerald City to take Dorothy and Toto back to Kansas, he announces from the basket of his balloon to the citizens of Oz that he is departing to, "...confer, converse, and otherwise hob-nob with my brother wizards."
I just love that phrase; and whenever I've been sent to a conference, I use it. It likewise seemed appropriate here. Unfortunately, I failed to make the "KKK" connection others would make -- which I profoundly regret. The last thing I ever intended would be a connection -- even inadvertent -- to an organization that promotes hatred of others.
The community here at the DBBP is anything but hateful!
And no one has either paid or threatened me to make me say that!

They're actually making an issue of this over there? Jeez...
It was merely some off-color humor that I felt you kind of left open. I'd hoped by the eye-bugging emoticon, my/our feelings of "WTF?!?" were conveyed.
Obviously, the association between our mods (or anything to do with this forum) and the KKK is not as outlandish in some people's minds as I would've thought. 
It was genuinely done in the spirit of "Springtime for Hitler" and I apologize if it offended anyone.
I thought "alternate road hoods" was funny!

So did I! It caused significant and prolonged laughter.
It was also far more intelligent than my initial attempt (ultimately abandoned) to respond -- with humor -- to the original photo.

I like being when my team is projected to do poorly.
I think it gives the players something to be charged up about and works as a motivator. There is nothing like proving people wrong about you.
I think that ranking is a little low, the roation is pretty solid, not SD or LA solid but contending solid, and are offense is better then both those teams hands down.
The season should be fun to watch now that the anchors have cut free and are bogging down the Mets, Brewers, and Dodgers respectively.
