Eric Byrnes at $6M is a bargain by comparison. What the heck is wrong with baseball GMs?

I heard about that deal on the radio a little while ago, and my first thought was Mark Shapiro is smart.
If trot nixon could actually stay healthy, he would be a good buy low candidate at that price. I think there is an excellent risk-reward ratio here

Just to expound
Trot Nixon OPS+ the last two season: 98 & 112.....career 117
RC/27 last two season 5.02, 5.66
Eric Byrnes OPS+ the last two seasons 95, 75, career 98
RC/27 last two season 5.25, 3.58
If Nixon can post up for 400-500 plate appearances, in a platoon role, he will be well worth 3 million.
