Went downtown with a buddy last night. First we went to the old ballpark. They had 26,000 on a wed night for soccer? Borring but I now know what a real 26,000 looks like at Chase.

Hoops was just as borring. So what if the Suns couldnt win the playoffs they were always fun to watch. Lots of empty seats for some bad hoops play. We left right after the rumble.

I guess Amare was not happy the ball did not go thru him early in the game. Bell just stands around, Nash "Walks" the ball up-court. I hear the West now sucks and the East is a beast. Well at least the Suns have that.

I am a sports fan and the NBA and NFL have become such a bore. I get free tickets but it has become a waste of time.

At least they havent ruined College football, yet.

We dont need no stinking playoff. Every saturday is a playoff! Keep it that way!

Didn't realize this was going on.... That would have interested me. Come from behind 2 - 1 game w/ Mexico beating Ecuador would have been entertaining to watch!!! (and certainly a lot more so than seeing the Suns last night)

NBA fight fallout: Nash, Alston, Barnes suspended

“I’ve never been this mad,” said Nash, who watched the video of the fracas for the first time after learning of the NBA judgments. “Unbelievable.

“They said I escalated the situation,” Nash said. “I was surrounded by three Rockets and one was attacking. What was I supposed to do? I went to go and separate guys from each other, especially when I get there and I get pushed from the side and the guy (McGrady) doesn’t get suspended.

“Rafer punched me in the chin.”

The Suns players were interviewed by phone before Wednesday’s practice, when Nash said he was asked, “Was it your intent to help Matt fight or just to help diffuse the situation?”

“I said, ‘I just wanted to go and help protect him because he was surrounded,’ “ Nash said. “I understand I did run over to the situation but who are they to judge if I was an aggressor or a diffuser. I got pushed to the ground. At that point, what was I supposed to do? Get thrown on the ground and get trampled? If I wanted to throw a punch, I could’ve. I just tried to grab guys to get them out of them. I was on the floor most of the time. I got pushed around twice. I’ve never been this pissed.”

“I just can’t believe it,” Porter said of the suspensions. “I don’t know how exactly they evaluated the whole thing. The tape I saw, I don’t come to that conclusion. I can’t believe Steve’s (suspension). I just don’t get it. He went in there to be a peacemaker and he gets shoved in the back and the guy who shoves him doesn’t get suspended. I never saw this coming.”

Will the real Shaquille O'Neal please stand up?

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Lucky for marketer Ward Andrews, Shaquille O’Neal feels the same way.
Andrews, a longtime Phoenix Suns fan, thought it’d be funny to set up a Twitter account in O’Neal’s name earlier this year.

The game last night sucked. Looked like they were just dialing it in in the 4th. Rolling Eyes

I was in Vegas last night and decided (stupidly) to bet on both the Suns to cover and the over/under. Lost both.

Paul Coro / The Arizona Republic today wrote:
After Friday's loss to Miami, Suns power forward Amaré Stoudemire expressed unhappiness with his role that he also shared in a Nov. 20 espn.com interview published Friday.

Asked if this system can provide him the chances he wants, he said, "I really don't know. I know I put in a lot of hard work this off-season to really take that next step, to really be in the class of the D-Wades (Dwyane Wade) and the LeBrons (LeBron James) and the Dwights (Dwight Howard). I put in the hard work this off-season to be in that class. Right now, I'm a little frustrated."

After making 9 of 21 shots in a Nov. 20 loss to the Lakers, Stoudemire mentioned those names to espn.com as "featured guys" to say how he wants to be the go-to guy in an offense that now starts with Shaquille O'Neal post-ups.

"I want to show the league and the world that I feel like my game has improved to that level," Stoudemire told espn.com.

He said the Lakers "were fluid, flowing . . . I remember when we looked like that."

He also talked to espn.com about free agency in 2010, when he can opt out of his contract. Such talk is bound to produce trade rumors with Stoudemire not rebounding and defending like a star. In recent games, his offensive involvement has curtailed.

"Absolutely!" Stoudemire told espn.com when asked if he thinks about 2010 free agency. "As a player, you should look at the teams you might want to play for. The city you may want to live in. The system you may want to play in. The economy. The cost of living. Everything. It's about what's best for you."

Welcome to the whining 2008/09 me me me Suns. It's going to be a long ugly season.

Watched the Suns against the Heat
The Suns looked ... bad
I think the coach will get canned soon

And yes, I know Oden will tell me I suck at basketball analysis

You realize that this is a brand new coach hired in the offseason, right...?

I'm assuming you do know this, seeing as you live in NY and D'Antoni coaches the Knicks now, but still, I doubt the Suns can Porter this short into his tenure as Suns coach.

Yes, I do know that. I happen to read the NYC papers that cover the Knicks, and THEIR new coach Wink

It doesn't matter. The Suns don't seem to play well in the new scheme, and their star player is bitching already

I wonder whom Suns fans would choose--Porter or Amare?

You suck! Smile The Suns changed direction this off-season. Their roster was aging and the all run/no D thing proved to be fatal in the playoffs - at least with this roster. They still have the aging roster, but they decided to get a more defensive minded coach to see if they could go a little deeper in the playoffs before their roster completely turns over.

So, they're not going to panic this early in the season - yes, it's a marathon, not a sprint. This team could be firing on all cylinders by February or they could be abhorently .500. Too early to tell, but they'll accomplish nothing by changing coaches when they still haven't learned the current coaches' schemes. These Suns will win or lose with Porter for a couple of years until they get the "old money" off the books. Then Stat will leave and they'll be a lottery team for 3-4 years.

I have to ask, if a star player complains about not "getting the damn ball", whose fault is it? Always somebody else's, right?

I stand by my post. Porter is getting fired long before he realizes the axe is falling.

Am not sure if a bad Suns season is good for the Dbacks, btw...

Suns trade Raja, Singletary and Boris to Charlotte for Jason Richardson. Heist!

Wow, the Suns are actually going to get some production out of that 13, 14MM now. I think Diaw was sort of superfluous on this team and Bell is just not good anymore. I like it.

Yeah, I have no clue what Charlotte saw in this deal. Richardson is lousy defensively, but so is Bell anymore, and Diaw is just lousy all over. The Suns definitely got the better of this deal.

Nice trade for the Suns. J-Rich is just the type of player Nash needs to take the big shots, and drive to the hoop. It sucks to lose Bell, but our team is better because of it. Well done PHX FO.

Miraculously, we're not getting annihilated by the Lakers. 53-48 at half. Of course after I say this they'll get stomped on.
