January 4, 2007, at 2 PM.

This looks as if it is going to be a monthly event, with chats scheduled for the first of February and March. April's, however, is on the 5th.

I guess Hall is no April Fool... Wink

Perhaps someone from among those able to take part will post transcripts and/or a summary here?

How about:

A- Once we are through the next 3 or 4 tight financial year, where do we expect our salary level to be? If he pulls back on a figure maybe you can get him to compare us to another team, budget-wise <ie A's, Braves, Dodgers, etc>

B- Are we attempting to extend either Davis or Hernandez? If so, who?

He won't give a direct answer on either but I'd be interested in seeing what he says about the first one.

I was planning to ask what the plans were for all of the position player depth like Carter, Barden, Hairston guys who have proven themselves at Tucson yet no positions available for these guys on the big league team.

If someone would like to turn that into a question and ask Mr. Hall about that I would be very appreciative

I would think he'd be willing enough to say what type of team we'd be in line with, budget wise. I know they'd mentioned before they were going to try to emulate the A's.

"mr. hall, would you characterize the decision to pay eric byrnes 5M to underperform hairston (who'd play for league min) as foolish talent evaluation, poor business, or placating a petulant ignorant fanbase?" Very Happy

You may want to add, "... or a combination of all three?"

Here's a transcript of the Hall chat. Nothing too compelling but what the heck.

azjazzyj: Have merchandise sales of the new Sedona Red color scheme met expectations?

biggerunit1: Do you honestly expect anything of Randy Johnson other than to bring back a couple fans of the many who left with the purple?

crazy4mycounsell: Hi, Derrick -- welcome to the organization. My question is, why did you and the rest of management get rid of every last person associated with the original team. And why did you not listen to the fans by even considering allowing Gonzo to stay?

If Hairston is still with us in ST, I'd be willing to have some of those made if 10 or so of us would like to buy them. We could all wear them to a ST game or something corny like that.
