Mariners, Guillen finalize $5.5 million contract

Mariners signed outfielder Jose Guillen, who had been with the Nationals, to a one-year, $5.5 million contract with a mutual option for 2008.

Guillen will get $5 million next season. The $9 million mutual option includes a $500,000 buyout. Also, Guillen can earn an additional $3 million next year in incentives. His arrival could give the Mariners a lineup of: CF Ichiro Suzuki, 3B Adrian Beltre, LF Raul Ibanez, 1B Richie Sexson, RF Guillen, DH Ben Broussard, C Kenji Johjima, 2B Jose Lopez and SS Yuniesky Betancourt. The team should be concentrating on pitching now rather than talking to Luis Gonzalez. Dec. 4 - 12:45 pm et

19 games against angels and his "favorite" Rolling Eyes manager.......i say they will have atleast 2 fights this season.....he only needed one series as a national to start with them 2 years ago....
