I don't know if this should be in the Thom Brennaman thread or what, but it's official, Sutton is the new voice o' the d-backs.

From db.com:

PHOENIX -- For first time in franchise history, the D-backs will have a new television play-by-play man on Opening Day, and his name is Daron Sutton.
The club announced on Thursday afternoon that Sutton signed a five-year contract to broadcast D-backs games, with a club option an additional three-year term from 2012-2014.

"This is a tremendous hire for the organization and our fans," Diamondbacks president Derrick Hall said. "Daron was pursued by other teams to broadcast their games, and we are fortunate to have him in our booth for the foreseeable future. He will be a great match with Mark Grace, and will offer a fresh perspective of D-backs games to new and longtime baseball fans."

Sutton has been the lead television play-by-play man for the Brewers since the 2002 season before resigning recently to pursue the D-backs job. The son of Hall of Famer Don Sutton, Daron was the play-by-play man for the Angels during the 2000 and 2001 seasons.

"I am ecstatic to join the Diamondbacks at a point that looks to be an exciting time for the organization with all of the young talent the team has assembled," Sutton said. "I have always enjoyed visiting Chase Field when I was with other teams broadcasting games, and I look forward to connecting with Diamondbacks fans throughout the state of Arizona."

Sutton will replace Thom Brennaman, who left the organization following the season to join his hometown Cincinnati Reds. Brennaman had been with the organization since 1995, two full seasons before it played a game.

Because Brennaman had been so synonymous with the D-backs, the club wanted his replacement to be a young, up-and-coming broadcaster who would be with the organization for a long period of time, which is why Sutton will sign a multiyear deal.
