The Curse of Gonzo's gamewinning blooper? I mean, alot of close calls of the Yankees winning it all was shot down in an interesting way.

Lost V. Arizona @ WS: Game 7- Gonzo's mark

Lost V. Anaheim @ ALDS: Lost against the to be World Champions

Lost V. Florida @ WS: Clemen's walk away from the team

Lost V. Boston @ ALCS: Had a 3-0 series lead against the Red Sox, only to fall 4 in a row.

Lost V. Anaheim @ ALDS: A-Rod's slump took notice in NY, began the blaming game of A-Rod.

Lost V. Detroit @ ALDS: Won first game, yet lost the next three, although they had HFA. Big expectations with the super lineup, yet fail again.

2001 was a grim year for the Yankees in the post season. As the criticism grew over Torre, relieving Rivera too much, it spread more than a report, but a curse. The curse of Gonzo! Its could be real. Well, hopefully that curse is true, because its great that the Yanks won't win the World Series this year, but share some love for the National League!

Nah, it's just karma. Steinbrenner's karma ran over Torre's dogma, that's all.

Buster Olney already wrote a great book about this: The Last Night of the Yankee Dynasty. An excellent read that revolves around Game 7 but also humanizes many of the Yankees.

Humanizes? The Yankees? You mean they're not soulless automatons from the Planet Steinbrenner? This book is clearly nothing more than propaganda for the Evil Empire, and I propose a mob with pitch-forks march on the author's house immediately.

Oh, alright - if you insist: Wink
