The Baybears 2008 Opening Day Roster:

Brooks Brown
Abe Woody
Reid Mahon
A.J Shappi
Mark Rosen
Matt Elliott
Rusty Ryal
Cesar Nicolas
Chris Rahl
Hector Ambriz
Matt Torra
Tony Barnette
Adam Howard
Forrest Cory
Vince Borgiovanni
John Hester
Bryan Byrne
Frank Curreri
Orlando Mercado
Yunesky Sanchez
Guillermo Reyes
Brandon Burgess
Cyle Hankerd
Greg Thomson

I think this squad is going to have problems scoring runs.

Yeah, agreed about the offense but the rotation and bullpen should be good.
Here's what the positions probably look like...I suspect one of catchers will also see time at the corner infield positions.

Rotation
Ambriz, Brown, Torra, Barnette, Howard

Bullpen
Mahon (Closer?), Elliot, Shappi, Rosen, Cory, Bongiovanni, Woody

Catcher
Hester, Curreri, Mercado

IF
Nicolas 1B, Sanchez SS, Burgess 3B, Reyes 2B, Ryal IF

OF
Rahl CF, Hankerd LF, Thomson RF

Burgess and Curerri have both played outfield and Curerri can play 1b. Ryal will see time at 2b and 3rd.

Offense should be about league average some power, some speed, okay hitters. Defense in the infield and relief pitching are keys to season.

Don't think you have this right at all - based on what I've seen and heard:

1b - Bryan Byrne is on roster and from his Spring and past performance at Visalia should open at 1B. Nicholas has worked out this Spring only at third base in camp days (based on spending some of my vacation time watching) and only occasionally at 1b; Nicholas played 90 % of his time last season at 3b. He'll split with Burgess at 3b (Burgess geting some time in OF and DH), occasionaly spelling Byrne at 1b and DHing.

Currei will platoon behind the plate with occasional starts in LF. He's played no 1b this Spring and very little last year. With the recent release of Derek Bruce, Ryal plays 2b. Hester gets most starts behind the plate and Mercado gets some occasional starts at catcher and DH.

Minor League Baseball's Mobile roster has Byrne's name on it. If that is the correct one, then he should be the regular 1st baseman. Burgess will then split 3B and LF with Nicolas at 3B.

So, based on another post in another thread about possiblities in the pitching, where are MacLane, Goocher and Glant starting the year?

I believe all 3 should be in Tucson. MacLane and Glant are on the roster but don't think it's finalized. Since Slaten is ok, Goocher will be there as well.

You are correct,

Those 3 are sure bets for Tucson but the roster is not finalized yet. That should be done tomorrow.
