Ok, in the gameday thread there was some confusing about the booth situation in the NLCS.

I can tell you with 110% assuredness that Skip Carey and Tony Gwynn are calling the game. Bob Brenly was a late addition and I have no clue if he will be back for the NLCS, as he isn't under a "full-time" TBS contract.

And who are you rooting for tonight, Rockies or Phillies?

Go Phillies!

With particular attention being directed to the patron saint of lost causes... Wink

Thank you, Bartman. I truly believe changing my avatar helped the D-backs win this series. Time to change it now (temporarily) until we know the outcome of the Phi/Col series.

I can see it either way: Let the teams beat the hell out of each other for five games, or let the Rockies sit for a few days and get iced.

Looks like the Rockies are one inning away.

Should be fun to watch the national media, who don't know a damn thing about either team, embarrass themselves over the next week.

My guess is the media gets bedazzled by the Rockies offense.

Add to that the Rocks having the #1 defense in MLB, and the lights will shine even more brightly in their eyes... Wink

Ratings-hungryTBS execs are probably suicidal now that the NLCS is D-Backs vs. Rockies. Maybe they'll think twice before buying that contract next year. Smile

Hey guys,

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this, but it seems like as good a section of the site as any to post it:

I'm getting hooked up with a plane ticket to come down for games 1 and 2 of the NLCS. Does anyone happen to have an extra ticket for either or both games that I could buy? I'd rather not go alone -- it'd be better to share in the experience with fellow DBBPers.

PM me if you can help me out.

Thanks!

The Diamondbacks will have their hands full with the Rockies who have won 17 of their last 18 games against a lot of very good teams. This will not be an easy series for the Diam ondbacks to win. At leat they get the home field advantage. Twisted Evil

We can only hope. The TBS guys don't seem to know their asses from a hole in the ground. Have they even heard of baseball before last week??
I really hope Brenly ends up being a part of it somehow.

Perez and Olney on BTN both just picked the Rockies to beat the Dbacks. Great news.

My feelings exactly. For me, against the Rockies, all bets are off. This could go all 7 and be a nail biter to the end. Kinda cool that we are making history with this tho- being the first NLCS with two West teams.

I'd like to know how many in Vegas had AZ/Col in the NLCS this year. The key to beating the Rockies - stop Todd Helton. He absolutely kills this team. He lights up Webb, Livan and Davis. Oh, and Valverde too. Give him the Bonds treatment if you have to, but keep him out of big PA's. D-backs LH'ers are going to earn their keep in this series.

If anyone bet on this matchup, they are sitting pretty tonight!

Sorry guys, but TBS is in it for the long haul, 7 year contract I believe with alternating ALCS and NLCS. Although with the exception of our series, it's been outstanding coverage IMHO. Don Orsillo and Joe Simpson have been outstanding for the Rockies/Phils series. And Skip and Brenly have been wonderful, and Tony Gwynn has been...well, Tony Gwynn.

And as much as I'd love to give Stephen Drew the NLDS MVP, MLB doesn't give out MVP awards for the LDS series Sad

This doesn't bother me nearly so much as them picking the Cubs. The Rockies probably really should be the favorite in this series. They have lost once in like three weeks and finished only 1/2 game behind the D-backs. I just hope it is time for them to cool off. They are due to. It's going to be a very tough series.
