The win by the Pods tonight has mathematically eliminated the Dbacks in 2006. Not that there was really any hope...

But acting as the spoiler against the Doggers -- assuming this one holds up -- is sweet; especially as it is the Phillies who benefit the most at the moment. My... distaste... for LA was greatly enhanced by years of watching the Phillies being eliminated from the NLCS by the Doggers. So to have my second team benefit from my primary team being a spoiler... YES!!! Twisted Evil

Spare me! Gonzo catches Kent's long fly ball against the LF wall, and the booth says he's put in a "full night's work with both the glove and the bat." Last time I looked, 0-for-5 with an RBI ain't a full night's work (especially when Quentin and Jackson have both been on 4x tonight)...

My guess is Young plays tmw. The question is whether Byrnes gets a day off, or if Q takes a seat.

Nice job by Drew going the other way to drive in the run.

Man....is Gonzo's bat ever slow. He can't catch up with any fastball that he tries to react to. The best he can do is foul it off, pop it up, or tap it.

Don't blame me for his weakass swings. Laughing

I just got a good laugh by looking at a post where someone thinks we will get Johan Santana. LOL

Great game all around (well almost). Is there enough time left for Conor to get his average up to .295? It would be quite an accomplishment.

Fantastic win!

matt, if Conor went 2 for 4 in each of his last 8 games, his season BA would jump to .303

.303 is not likely, but .295 is definitely within reach.

That's if he gets 8 starts.

yeah, I hate missing gameday threads too, but it would be divorce to hang out here all night. Q's ass looked magnificent tonight. Gonz's is looking kind of droopy. I know, no more Gonz bashing.

Thanks for a great B-Day guys (and Diamondbacks). Had to read this thread this morning--though I kept appraised of the score last night-- as I was playing a gig. I get to watch the game this afternoon though.

Thanks for the brownies AND the Albas! Razz

He's up to .290 after today's 2 for 4.
