If that's the case, which one is shoe's real voice? The one in person? Or the one on the radio? Either way, he has to be one heck of a talent to accomplish the differences!
Or are we talking about a person with multiple personalities, and doesn't know it? A sports-based "Dr. Shoe and Mr. Gambo" situation?
Be afwaid... Be VERY afwaid...

let's get ready to gambo!
http://www.azcentral.com/sports/cheapseats/gambo/0110rant.html
summary:
1. gambo correctly points out that:
Quote: |
According to a baseball source in New York the Yankees have asked for two young starters amongst a group of three – Owings, Ross Ohlendorf and Dana Eveland. They also want a major-league ready reliever -- most likely Brandon Medders and a young infield prospect.
That package is much too rich for a player who is a shell of his former self. |
A couple of caveats.
This package is what the Yankees WANT. It's certainly NOT what the Yankees will get. Gambo is either too dumb to note the difference or too coy to point it out. I think we can pretty safely assume that the package of players that goes to NY won't be nearly as rich or dramatic.
2. gambo spends the rest of his article pimping owings. this leads me to two conclusions:
a. owings has photos of gambo and joe jr, both of them naked
b. gambo believes that owings is pretty much gone to ny; in other words, he feels that no matter what the final package looks like, it'll involve micah owings. that's certainly a worrisome thought; much as we like to make fun of gambo, he does get some info sometime.
fwiw, I thought his comparison to huston street was interesting. one would wonder what owings would look like as a power reliever...
of course, his argument that "all owings has done in the minors is win" is total first grade gambo drivel. ie., bullshit.

He does tend to wear himself down as a starter, grinding on every pitch, and therefore doesn’t pitch deep into games. But no one can argue the record. Owings is successful. He wins games.
He "knows how to win."

That sounds familiar...didn't we already go through a "proven winner"? |
