Bonds convicted of obstruction of justice

The verdict shows jurors believed Bonds lied when he testified to a grand jury in December 2003 that his trainer never injected him with a needle.

Did ANYONE think he DIDN'T lie ?

EDIT: But actually this verdict doesn't say what TAP thinks it says....not in a legal sense. At least that is my first take on reading about it.

Need a lawyer to weigh in here .

Not my thought, per se. The line in question is copied straight from the linked article.

Barry Bonds sentenced to 30 days under house arrest in his enormous Beverly Hills mansion, probation for two years, 250 hours of community service, and a $4,100 fine.

Somehow, a title by Shakespeare seems appropriate here: "Much Ado About Nothing."

Of course, the damage to his legacy is the major "punishment" here; and no greater penalty in terms of either jail time or a higher fine, even approaches that in terms of impact.

Got it from Jeff Pearlman, who confirms that it is real and is Barry, and was taken this week.

Good for Barry. His new exercise routine seems to be working. ;)

Yes, he's returned to looking like a more normal person. I was watching the last time the DBacks were in SF and they were talking to this guy who sounded like Barry but looked nothing like the Barry Bonds I remember.
