According to FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal, the Blue Jays and Royce Clayton have agreed to a one-year, $1.5 million contract.

Well, we like Roy Halladay and A.J. Burnett better from a fantasy perspective with Clayton at shortstop and Aaron Hill at second base. That's about the only nice thing we can say about this, though. Clayton is only an average defender these days and he's not much more than John McDonald with the bat. Unless they somehow make Clayton a backup later on, the Jays have severely damaged their chances of going to the playoffs.Source: FOXSports.com

Amazing. The man had a 66 OPS+, and is not even average at shortstop anymore. And he still gets work.

If that's how things worked in the real world, there would be no one who is unemployed...
