No more tomorrows:
Webb vs. Woody
Here's hoping all the well deserved Gonzo goodbye hype is saved for after the game is won and that all the Padres players come in severely hungover following their Saturday night celebration. |

I know that quite a few people from here will be at the game.
I hope to come back and see a VERY happy game thread. |

i can't wait for the game tomorrow. i'm so sick right now -- the gf is a substitute teacher, and she brought home some godawful cold. the kind that only a 1st grader can give you. and then she gave it to me (that bitch...).
but even if i only had an hour to live, i'd still go to tomorrow's game. so what if i died halfway through? tomorrow is goodbye to gonzo. goodbye to counsell. webb throws a perfecto and wins the cy young. and the drinks flowing at the bar. eviljuan's sitting near us. driaz is going. the wiz. who else?
tomorrow's going to be good.

I'll be there along with a throng of millions (well okay, maybe a dozen) from this board.

I think I can speak for B.O.N.D. and say that I wish we Bay Area dudes could be there with you guys. Have a round for us at Tmar's!

Bummer!!! I am feedless for today's season finale and Webby's run at the CY.
I may be watching live sports instead of the GameCenter as I have had to for the last two games.
So, here's Jenny throwing out the first pitch for a little game day mojo!

What's with starting the Gamdeday Thread the day before the game? Isn't that an infraction of some kind? Or is it available as soon as the previous game concludes?
Here's hopin Webb brings his A-game and the team helps him out.

tap and hank (shockingly) have the best records on the new board, so we gave them the last two starts. hank was... well... hank. but i'm hoping tap continues his gameday thread dominance and wins webb the cy.
(it's gonna be so weird not having a gameday thread to look at every day...)

Big day for Webb and for all us fans of the Dbacks.
It is also the last day of the season and the last time we'll ever see the team in the purple and teal.
And Gonzo's farewell.
What a momentous day... I wish I could be down there with you guys. The end of one era, the start of a new one.
Please use these toasts in my absence:
TO WEBB'S CYA AND TO THE FUTURE!!!
TO GONZO!

An totally unnecessary "4" for Counsell. Him and his ~900 career hits.

Might as well just change the name of this thread to Webb's Cy Young Ruiner... |

Webb officially will end the season with a 3.10 ERA. That's 3rd in the NL, and Roy Oswalt will win the ERA Crown
Oswalt 2.98
Carpenter 3.09
Webb 3.10 |

Williams just grooved a fastball to Gonzo at 86 and he fouled it back. Roll over on 3-1.
And that first AB with the hugging Jerry C and Rich D really irritated me. Counsell's first AB was a little more appropriate, and I'm really fired up he got the HR. Unless Gonzo puts one out in his last AB.
Also, the numbers on the field are appropriate. Both of them.
Hoffman Lifetime Achievement Award it is. Unless the majority of the voters have already filled out their card.

And as for the apparent Hudson Gold Glove
Jamey Carroll leads the NL in Range Factor, Zone Rating, and Fielding %, among all qualified 2B. |

This team could get some FA's if they filled the park like this everyday. |
