i remember reading something (posted on this board or MLB) that jav vaz nixed a deal to go to detroit....i remember reading it cause we were going to get joel z in return and we all know he is nasty.....

anyway how does jav vaz feel now that the team he deemed not good enough for him are in the series and the surprise of 2006 and he was a disapointment and so was his team...............

hehehe

Vazquez DID nix a deal to Detroit but I never heard that Zumaya was part of the potential deal. Oh well, we got Young back and he's done great.

So...in hindsight, ultimately, knowing what we know now, which package would you rather have?

very good question, shoewiz.

it comes down to this: next year, do you rather have chris young, jorge julio and luis vizcaino or granderson and zumaya?

i like young much more than granderson, and two relievers are twice as many as one Wink

we know it know, but in a couple of years even the dumb dumbs on the mlb board will look back on the javy to cha trade and think:

"how the fk did josh byrnes manage to rob kenny in that trade?"

Obviously, Young >> Granderson but whether Julio and Vizciano are better than Zumaya really depends on whether we would have used Zumaya as a starter or a reliever. Also, do you see us keeping Julio or trading him? What about the hell that Dookie put us through?

If its Granderson and Zumaya (SP), I'd rather have the Det deal. Anyways, it's a moot point because of how things turned out. It does speak a lot more about how freaking good Byrnes is at bending over other GMs.
