Watching the Cubs/Rockies game just now, I saw a very interesting stat line for Aramis Ramirez at the bottom of the screen under his name:

Aramis Ramirez, 3b
.277 BA 28 HR 81 RBI .341 OBP

Now if WGN and the Scrubs can manage to stick OBP on the screen, why can't we?

No reason not to... Boston has been doing it for years (but local media guys would claim that Sox fans are far more sophisticated than the Arizona demographic), but they can NOT claim the same for Cubs fans. We've SEEN those people!!! Twisted Evil

Because that would distract from shoving players down our throats for non-baseball reasons?

Let's just say the typical D-Back fan is either old and senile or is more interested in the jungle gym behind the center field wall.

Is that a crack aimed at "old people" like me and......? I lost my train of thought. Sad

The fans watching on television are old and senile, the fans at the game are more interested in the jungle gym. I think this is a key point for the discussion.

By the way, I got overly frustrated by Johnny Estrada's hacking during this homestand and decided to look at his game logs. You realize, his last non-intentional walk was on April 23rd! His last five walks have all been intentional, and he only has one (intentional, I might add) walk at home. He's even worse than I thought...

(P.S. I went by Craig on the "old" Bullpen.)

Thanks for the info....I knew he had been stuck on 8 walks forever....but did not realize 5 of them were intentional

That really DOES suck, even worse than I thought.

Explains the low OBP compared to the high BA. We have to ship him out this winter, if only because he'll never have this much value.
