A meaningless game against the Midgets. Edgar vs. Schmidt. Oh, that's why it's almost 10AM and nobody has taken it...

I'm a little freaked out by them also. Especially that midget porn star that always used to show up on Howard Stern's show. I could figure out what freaked me out more, the midget porn star, Blue Iris (the 70+ yr old porn star), or the dude that liked to be puked on.

A midget clown would be REALLY scary. There must be a horror movie about that somewhere.

Not exactly a "midget" and definitely not a clown... but just had disturbing flashback to Todd Browning's Freaks... "one of us... one of us... we accept you... gobble, gobble.... one of us"

Midgets don't scare me, but I understand the phobia. Some friends and I always go to Vegas for the first weekend of March Madness. It's my dream to one year rent a midget to take with us. And before you say, "What do you mean, rent a midget?" go ahead and Google it.

Clowns.... I always hated the clowns. Of course, I'd always love to go to Vegas dressed as a clown too.

Beats talking about a late September game between the Giants and Dbacks

Here is the lineup that I'd like to see tonight:

CF - Young
1B - Tracy (11-31 against Schmidt)
LF - Gonzo (descent numbers against Schmidt)
RF - Q
1B - Jackson
SS - Drew
C - Estrada
2B - Callaspo (Hudson is 4-9 against Schmidt but he's not coming back till Wed)

I do NOT want to see Counsell or Byrnes out there. Counsell is 9-54 agaist Schmidt and Byrnes is 1-11 against him and has sat only 3 times since the start of August. As much as we've bagged on Melvin for running Gonzo out there every day, Byrnes has been out there more than Gonzo.

Hey, I at least want the Dbacks to finish above SF this season.

Granny sex, midget porn, fine... Guys who like to get puked on? Shocked

When I looked at the NL West standings in this morning's paper I noticed we're not ahead of ANYBODY!

LOL Matt, Counsell/Byrnes batting 1-2.

But Montero gets the start...in a typical one step forward, two steps back BoMel fashion.

Lineups:

C. Counsell 2b
E. Byrnes rf
L. Gonzalez lf
C. Tracy 3b
C. Jackson 1b
S. Drew ss
C. Young cf
M. Montero c
E. Gonzalez p

R. Winn rf
O. Vizquel ss
M. Sweeney 1b
B. Bonds lf
R. Durham 2b
P. Feliz 3b
S. Finley cf
E. Alfonzo c
J. Schmidt p

Well this is the lineup we get:

Counsell, 2B
Byrnes, RF
Gonzo, LF
Tracy, 3B
Jackson, 1B
Drew, SS
Young, CF
Montero, C
Gonzalez, P

Melvin must think that Couns and Byrnsie are 'due' and that's why he decided to put them in the top 2 spots. With the top 2 a combined 10-64 it looks like we are going to have to rely on the middle and bottom of the order to score runs.

I can accept that Byrnes is going to play just about every day but when a guy has had a sub .260 OPB for a MONTH AND A HALF he needs to be hidden somewhat in the lineup.

he has been pitching like that since the 1st of August. I know him and Mike Parrot worked on a lot of stuff after being sent down. I think a lot of it was throwing strikes.

He's just padding his stats so we don't bring him back next year.

Great inning!!!

And btw, I love midgets. They're just so cute and adorable. I tried to convince my buddies to get me some midget strippers for my bachelor party last year, but they chicken out. I was very disappointed.

THOM: "You're really getting a bird's eye view tonight of two franchises headed in opposite directions."

I hear that, Thom. And it sure is nice to be an AZ fan rather than a SF fan going into these next few years.
