Kent likes to pull the ball, and is a great pull hitter Last night, when he hit it out, he went deep center right, because he knew that's what he needed to do in that situation. Not try to pull it.
Doing my best Phil Jackson, and knowing Cq, and kent are similiar in that both are primarily pull hitters, I get a bunch of film of Kent, and show him his approach, at the plate. Kent is a very crafty hitter, in that although he's a pull hitter, he doesn't hit the inside pitch that well. At the same time he's intimidating inside, and also doesn't give in inch on the plate, which leads to high obp. He also has always been a very intense competitor and winner, in high energy situations...Cq's the next Kent.

Why Gonz is no Kent. Kent never gives in, Gonz gives in. What I mean by this, is although Kent can be gotten to inside, he doesn't change his plan, or get the yips on it. Who here doesn't know Gonz is going to get jammed inside in high energy situations? Who here knows Gonz is going to swing at those pitches?

How do you feel about Shawn Green?

I don't think we should resign Gonzo.

We shouldn't resign him either.

I'll be a little nice about Gonz, he's actually a great, great, hitter, obviously. He's a pure hitter, and his pitch recognition skills are off the charts. Put Pujols behind him, Berkman, hey Jeff Kent, and guess what, he'd still have the late 90's Gonz numbers, and those numbers would be better than Uggla's. He's just not a big time performer, without a big time performer behind him.

You seem to be a pretty big Jeff Kent fan.
I just like big time guys. There's superstars, and there's there's big time guys. Bonds, Hafner, Berkman, Cabrera, who combine the best of everything. Then there's the Kent's , then the Gonzo's.
