Gwynn was a great hitter, but he sucks as a predicter. He'll be proven wrong. Arizona might get in as the wild card and not the division champ, but it will get in. |

... And I think he spent some time on the Padres... He might be biased. |

maybe he should worry about the fact that his kid's team is in danger of not getting into the playoffs and not what some team in the NL west that has no direct effect on their outcome is doing. |

Yep, LA is pretty much officially out of it.
If for some reason we crash and don't make it, i'll take solace in the fact that Luis is sitting at home.

lol, i dunno. The market for 40 yr old Designated Hitters in denial is slim.
Even teams like Tampa and KC won't waste their money on a rental with little upside.
Unless he's willing to accept a part time role, i don't see him having a job next year.
Anybody else?

This is Bulletin Board material for sure...Guinn doesn't believe in the Dbacks...that is obvious. Someone (Dbacks Mgt are you reading?) should jot down some of his comments, and add Heath Bell's comments, and post them in the locker room---ASAP! |

Well...it would probably mean more if they still had games left against the Padres. |

Why? It's not like Gonzo scorned the D-Backs and went to LA. The D-Backs didn't want him.

More like Gonzo did scorn the D-Backs for not wanting him back. At least if you read any quote he's made about them over the past year.

no i'm very glad he's not here. I'm not very glad (or just bitter ) about the way he handled it.

I'm glad Gonzos gone, it got to where he couldn't throw as far as 3rd base when he was in left.
As far as Gwynn goes he should stop getting his baseball opinions from the counter help at Burger King while waiting for his 3 Whoppers. |

Tony's entitled to his opinion, but it'd be more meaningful if he actually had a good reason for it. What I heard was, There's no reason why Arizona won't win, other than that they're young, and SD and LA's "experience" will "somehow" let them win. Really, Tony--if you're going to make a prediction, at least have a half-way intelligent reason for it. |

The Giants have a lot of experience and they won't make the playoffs
