With the Padres playing earlier, one of the 2 teams will have nothing to play for by the time they start. Either the Rockies get eliminated by a San Diego win, or the D-backs win the division with a Padres loss.

It'd be nice to have the division wrapped up before the game starts...I just don't like SD and it would be hilarious if they had to play a one-game playoff on Monday after losing a couple to the Brewers.

Ok guys, lets win tonight and let DD get ready for the PLAYOFFS.

On a personal note, Thanks to all of the board members for a memoriable season. Being stuck at home like I have been for the last three years, you begin to feel isolated. Being able to share my love of baseball with you all has made all the difference for me. I consider each of you friends that I just haven't met yet. Once again thanks to each of you.

Now lets win the next three series and show everyone else that Arizona Kicks ass.

The way I understand it, if San Diego somehow loses to the Brewers we become the champions of the NL West before we even play tonight's game.

Yes, a Padre loss or a D-Backs win makes the Arizona Diamondbacks 2007 NL West division champions.

Hey gang, I'l tell one thing last night was a hell of a game. After the game they had one el of a celibrationin the locker rom. There was champagne and beer fllowing all over. Ran into D. Hall and the rest of the FO people while we were waiting for Doug to come out. When Doug did come out he was wet from head to toe. Now I can say PLYOFF without jinksing us. PLYOFF, PLAYOFF, PLAYOFF, PLAYOFF and PLAYOFF. There that should cover it.
One more for the division. That's what I'm talking about!

So, in effect, only one of the teams in our game tonight will have anything on the line.

If the Padres win, the Rockies are eliminated from wild card contention and have nothing to gain, whereas we still have to win to become NL West champs.

If the Padres lose, we are the NL West champs and have the best record in the league, whereas the Rockies would still have an outside chance at the wild card.

Interesting...
