Since nobody else has claimed it, I'll take it.

SPs:
Livan Hernandez (11-12, 5.10 ERA)
Tony Armas (8-10, 5.14 ERA)

From Diamondbacks.com...

Hernandez pitched his best game since joining the D-Backs on Aug. 7 in his last start on Friday against the Cardinals and arguably his best start of the season. The veteran right-hander limited St. Louis to a pair of hits over his seven innings.

Armas pitched in and out of trouble in a shaky outing on Friday, allowing four runs, five hits and seven walks (three intentional) in 5 2/3 innings of a no-decision at Colorado. His defense didn't do him any favors, as two errors led to two unearned runs.

Orlando Hudson is a career .556 hitter (5-for-9) off of Armas with a home run and two RBIs.

How much you wanna bet TODAY will be the day when Drew, Quentin, Young, Jackson and Montero ALL play in the same game. There is no TV today of course.

That would figure....Closest BoMel came was the first of the Sept 2 games with Drew, Quentin, Young, Jackson, and Snyder--another non-TV game. Gotta give the casuals their PV favs to watch.

I'd bet you a bag of peanuts, but that would probably result in my being fined/sanctioned/both for a cross-thread-posting violation of some sort... Wink

Do you think the management knows how much we want to see that lineup, and so will only allow us to see it if we come to the ballpark? Wink

My, I'm cynical today... Confused

It should be, probably will get a blackout if your in Arizona but as long as your out of market then it will be on, I dont think there are any games that arent televised out of market.

Weird first inning developing...

First two batters single; then Soriano gets picked off second and is caught stealing going to third. Then Zimmerman pops out to CoJack behind 1st base, and Lopez tries to tag up and go to third. CoJack makes a head-up play -- even Grace praised Jackson -- but Tracy goofs, and misses the tag.

Runner on third, two out -- and Hernandez strikes out Nick Johnson to end the inning...

Weird, weird, weird...

Man oh man!

Sounds like Carlos Quentin made quite a catch to end the second inning!

Those of you fortunate enough to have seen it will need to tell us more...

Sounds like CoJack is getting this big-league hitting figured out!

His 13th HR gives us a 1-0 lead!

Sweet! And the future looks bright...

Is Melvin in the ballpark today? A suicide squeeze!

Didn't think that was in his playbook...

Woulda been absolutely fantastic if it had stayed fair...

First time was cool, but trying it again with 2 strikes was stupid.

The only possible rational explanation would be an attempt to stay out of the DP. I can live with that, if that's the reason.

Otherwise, I agree with you that it was a stupid move.

Livan is a natural hitter who's hit 8 HR's. Don't have him bunt with 2 strikes.

Oy yoy yoy!

Sounds as if CoJack was, oh, so close to a second HR!

Grace was really heaping praise on Jackson during the at-bat. He said he sees him as beein a .315 hitter with some power in years to come...

Earlier, Thom anointed Quentin as the everyday right fielder, and Young as the starting CF in '07; while pointing out that the Dbacks control the rights to Byrnes and DaVanon for next year.

Are Thom and Grace prepping the casual fans for changes to come?

[/wishful thinking]

Hudson has been absolutely tearing it up. His arb costs are going to go through the roof.

Defensively, I wonder how many of his throwing errors are on balls that he shouldn't have even gotten to?

That's an interesting observation -- may be something to it.

However, part of the game, regardless of whether or not you shouldn't have gotten to the ball, is knowing when you can make the throw, and when it is better to just hold the ball, knowing you've held the runner to a single.

Great hearing it!

With Drew coming up this next inning, I just realized that in 171 AB's this year he's K'd in 24% of those AB's, and has a 3.42 K/BB ratio. Known K artist Chad Tracy OTOH has K'd in only 22% of his AB's this year, and has a 2.69 K/BB ratio.

Hopefully this is just Drew learning major league pitching the hard way and not a long-term trend.
