I'll take Vargas ( 11-9, 4.90 ) over Traber ( 3-3, 7.36 )
Let's load the lineup with righties and chase Traber early. |

Let's see, in his last outing he went 7 shutout and the time before that he was 5 and 3 runs. Keeping with his trends, I'll say Claudio gets bombed tonight. He is a lefty, so this could mean that Gonzo sits today. This will be today's lineup (with OPS vs. LHPs):
Young CF, 1.222
Hudson 2B, .852
Jackson 1B, .806
Byrnes LF, 1.034
Quentin RF, .772
Drew SS, 1.067
Easley 3B, .777
Snyder C, .678
That's right, ALL the kids play today. Easley at 3rd because he's a 'lefty killer' (lmao) His OPS ROCKETS up to .777 against LHPs (still beats Tracy's .619 though) |

There's also the foulpole gameday starting thread record to factor in.

Elle said that "since many of this board's posters are too yellow to take a non-Webby start, I thought that it would be nice to ride along with fp and bring some Aussie mojo."

That would make far too much sense. Let's sit the RHB Quentin instead.

Elle was leaning more toward the righties.

Did you hear the news the EnGon is going to the BP and EdGon is going into the rotation. That's gotta make a few of you happy. |

This lineup is fucking asinine.
There is no possible reason for Easley to be playing at all this month. There is no reason for Quentin to be on the bench, much less when Quitter is starting against a LHP.
Let the damn kids play, you candy-ass-Livan-trading-for-motherfuckers. |

With:
C. Young CF 0-0
O. Hudson 2B 0-0
L. Gonzalez LF 0-0
E. Byrnes RF 0-0
C. Jackson 1B 0-0
due up in our 1st, let's see if we can make an early splash.

Well, it's not shutting him down, but it should keep him from being overworked.
Enrique pitched 161.1 innings in 2005 while in Tennessee. He pitched 60.1 innings in Tucson this year, and has pitched 104.0 innings since being called up to the Diamondbacks. Thus, it has been suggested he needs to be shut down for the rest of the season -- a suggestion that makes sense to me.
Let's not burn out his arm in pursuit of essentially nothing at season's end...

Claudio has three walks so far in 1.2 innings...
This could get ugly if he doesn't settle down...

Gotta figure that, between Monday Night Football and (maybe) a degree of ennui at this point in the season, most of the usual gameday posters are elsewhere...
Vargas has just given up his 4th walk...
C'mon, Claudio! Your teammates just got you two runs! Don't start giving them away with leadoff walks!!!
