I've always wanted to try one, and hopefully a revitalized roster with some new faces can potentially help us get a W

This game is rained out due to Hurricane.
Feel free to make dinner plans with the wife and pretend you would rather be with her than watching the game and posting on the game thread. |

Teams without an indoor field always have us at a disadvantage when the game is rained out. We don't get rained out, so our opponents don't have to travel or play a double header to make it up. |

Some of us aren't that lucky, or unlucky, depending on if you like being married.

Maybe they can use this opportunity to skip a start from either Enrique or Claudio |

how you figure?
Originally,
Friday- Miggy
Saturday -Livan
Sunday- Webb
Monday- EnGon
Tuesday- Vargas
Now it's
Sat- Miggy-Livan
Sun- Webb
Monday- Engon
Tuesday- Vargas
Wednesay- ???? Miggy on short rest? I doubt it.
They will either give a start to Cruz, or call up Edgar or Nippert for Wednesdays start. |

Maybe...
Ernesto has become a tropical depression, and its movement has slowed. The storm center, now south of the DC area, is predicted to move only a bit north of the Maryland-Pennsylvania border by tomorrow morning; with a chance of rain and thundershowers in the DC area throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday.

So this officially guarantees that Gonzo will play both games (why do I even have to state that one), Counsell and Clark will start one game, and that Young and Quentin will play in separate games.
What does Melvin do? Does he essentially forfeit one game by running out the kids in the first game and the douche crew in the second game or will he make the lineup in the first game worse so that the douch crew can be a little better? |

Now, don't get me wrong, I Love, and cherish my wife, like the sap that I am, but baseball season is baseball season. She can ask me all about my day from Oct to April. Next, guys actually get married twice? Now that's what you call insanity.

How long do you guys think it'll take until we see Drew, Callaspo, Jackson, Young, Quentin, Snyder/Montero all on the field at the same time? I have feeling that's not going to happen until next year.

I don't think we'll ever see Snyder and Montero on the field at the same time!
(Sometimes "/" = "and"... Yes, I know, here, "/"="or"...)
But I think you're right -- such a lineup isn't going to happen this year. More's the pity...

After Montero's called up this month, show up two hours prior to gametime and you'll see them both on the field during BP.

I'm here in DC getting soaked. The flimsy el cheapo umbrella I had picked up in NY lasted about 5 minutes in the wind before it was a mangled beyond use.
Despite the forecast that predicted steady rain all day, I got a glimmer of hope at 5 PM when the rain stopped... so I headed on the Metro to the Stadium stop, but alas... it was back to steady moderate rain with occasional wind gusts. Knew that there was no fucking way this game was gonna get in.. so just turned around and headed back to hotel.
Only thing I was able to do was visit a couple museums I'd not seen before, including the Holocaust Museum. Highly recommend that one--very educational, and it wasn't too much for me (but I've seen a LOT of graphic film treatments, read quite a bit, and been to the Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem)... also ate at a great German cafe (unrelated to the museum).
No sleep since Wednesday night, so going to crash early tonight... hope that the weather breaks and let's us get in both tomorrow. |

If we're eliminated with about 10 to go, we'll see all of them - sans Montero - at least a couple times.
Also, if Montero is a lefty Venezuelan, then we have to move Estrada right now for as much as we can get. Give the job to Snyder and let him show he can handle full-time duties, as well as a sympathy spot for Hammock as the backup/utility, and then give Montero a call-up next September to prepare for the full-time job in '08. He's most likely just not ready for the full-time grind like Snyder currently is, but he's gonna be way better. I love Central/Latin American players and we need more of them. I've been pissed that all of our prospects are American. I want to see Dominincans all over the field.

Yes, we don't have latin position players (I believe Callaspo was though) but have you looked at the pitching staff? Lyon, Medders, and Webb are the only Americans. 7 from DR, 1 Cuban, and to Venezualans.
If they are serious about Montero for next season, then there is no way Estrada makes it back. A true LH and a true RH will be better than a SH and a LH. |

i went to the holocaust museum with a gf once. it was eerily silent, and then she sneezed really really loudly. so i said, "gesundheit."
it echoed. we got dirty looks. i didn't mean anything bad. i'm just not really cut out for social interaction. that's all.
