Is one guy, trying to hit for less power, and the other guy trying to hit for more? Can't argue with Drew's results so far, 360 obp....Cj 400 obp...that's if we wanted Craig Counsell back....O'dog adjusted great last night, I'm almost thinking O'dog slumps now will be met by,adjusting to less power/throttling back, 350 b/a the goal...The Boggs plan.

Counsel never had an obp of greater than 360 in a season where he had more than 175 ab's. His career obp was 344

Sure you'd like to see more average from Drew, but he is taking pitches especially the first time up. You sure want more power from your 1b, but a 400 obp is really something. I think it is too early to draw any conclusions.

I am still not seeing Hudson hitting much over 300 if that.

I was thinking as I was watching the game last night, has Drew hit a single ball in the air this season?

Think he hit one pretty good out to the warning track in center that was caught the other night. He was sick over the weekend with the flu, then went about 1-11 after coming back. With so few at bats his avg. went from over .300 to barely over .200 very quickly. Have no doubt that we'll see a lot of line drives from gap to gap and more than a few making it over the wall very soon from Drew. As for Conor, pretty much looks like his approach from last season and no new toe-tap to generate more power. Would like to see him unload on a first pitch strike from time to time to keep the pitchers honest. It is early and the power numbers will no doubt fall in line with expectations. Hard to fault either one for getting on base at the rate they do. Will be nice when Q gets back into the line-up.

I thought Jackson said he was just working on the toe-tap and wasn't going to use it this season?
