What??? no one wants Enrique vs Young???? I'll take it...
8/29 Padres vs Dbacks
Enrique tabbed to take on Padres
San Diego (66-65) at Arizona (64-67), 6:40 p.m. MST
By Lindsey Frazier / MLB.com
For Enrique Gonzalez to be successful in his start on Tuesday against the Padres, he needs to post a zero in the opening inning.
Of the 55 runs he has allowed this year, 24 have come in the first frame. Gonzalez has had a rough stretch of late, having not won a decision since July 17. Since then, he has lost three times and received four no-decisions.
San Diego sends Chris Young to the hill. Young is trying to come back from a muscle strain in the area near his right shoulder blade. The injury forced him to leave his last start -- which came against Arizona at PETCO Park on Aug. 20 -- after one inning.
Young hopes to have ironed out a mechanical flaw in his delivery, which occurred when he first suffered the strain while warming up for that game.
The right-hander has yet to record a win in the month of August, posting a loss and three straight no-decisions.
After the D-Backs defeated the Padres, 7-4, on Monday, San Diego will be looking to even out the series. The D-Backs are five games back in fourth place in the National League West standings, while San Diego is three games behind the first-place Dodgers.
Pitching matchup
ARI: Enrique Gonzalez (3-5, 5.32 ERA)
In his last start against the Giants on Wednesday, Gonzalez surrendered four runs -- three of which came in the first inning -- over four innings and received a no-decision.
SD: Chris Young (9-5, 5.07 ERA)
Young leads the National League in road ERA (2.63) and has not lost on the away from home since June 25, 2005. Over that span, the right-hander has recorded eight wins and 12 no-decisions.
Player to watch
Eric Byrnes continued to hit the Padres hard on Monday, going 4-for-5 with a homer, two doubles and four RBIs from the cleanup spot. Expect him to fill that hole again on Tuesday. |

I'm #2! I'm #2!
We haven't shut Enrique down yet? What is the FO trying to do to the kid?

Wow on the fox sport pregame with Kevin McCabe they basically admitted that the D-Backs were officially out of the race now. I didn't expect that from McCabe being a house man.
Hey at least they're honest. Wow it must be a replay as they're dissin Webb saying he hasn't pitched more than 6 innings since his return. |

Why don't they just send Drew back to Tucson if they're not going to play him. |

Team leader in HRs with 20, and the Dbacks won last night's game with him in that spot. The 4 hole does make more sense for him than the leadoff one. |

He did yesterday too.
The real test will be when Counsell sits, will Melvin stick Byrnes back at the top of the order. It;s fine against lefties, but he should never bat leadoff vs. righties.

This team does need a true clean up hitter. Hopefully CQ shows he's ready by next season. |

I don't buy that Drews hand still hurts. If Counsell were still injured Drew would be playing.
Enrique's back to his old tricks. |

I'm sure it doesn't affect the way he plays, but did anyone see Chad Tracy's skull? He's got the dome of a fat guy.

Sure has. He ain't a gold glover, but he sure isn't a liability, either.

Nobody's bringing up the idea of TC returning as late inning defensive specialist .... for good reason.
