Tony Clark-1B- Diamondbacks Aug. 25 - 6:01 pm et
Diamondbacks activated first baseman Tony Clark from the 15-day disabled list.
Clarl's rehab assignment lasted all of one day. He'll start once per week or so and serve as a pinch-hitter the rest of the way.
Alberto Callaspo-3B- Diamondbacks Aug. 25 - 6:00 pm et
Diamondbacks optioned infielder Alberto Callaspo to Triple-A Tucson. There was little point to calling up Callaspo in the first place if this was how he was going to be used. He made just two starts for the Diamondbacks, the last coming on Aug. 12. He was 4-for-15 with a double.

With Counsell back, Callaspo was short on at bats. Plus he could help the AAA team in the playoffs. Shoewiz is right tho...
Levski's post reminded me of something I read yesterday...

Because most of the "big name" players are already donning a D-Backs uniform, Hale doesn't anticipate losing too many more bodies when Major League rosters expand from 25 to 40 on Sept. 1.
"With those guys already gone, I think the guys they'll call up on [Sept. 1] are going to be a couple of pitchers, maybe another catcher, possibly [an infielder]," Hale said. "It won't be as big of an impact as it has been in the past."
Arizona first-year general manager Josh Byrnes echoed Hale's sentiment, and said that while the big-league club always takes priority over its Minor League affiliates, the front office also recognizes Tucson's playoff push.
"I think we're going to exercise some judgment on Sept. 1," Byrnes said. "Guys who will be called up are guys who probably have distinct roles given the fact that we can expand our roster. We might leave some guys down there who wouldn't get a ton of playing time in the big leagues. It's probably better to let them finish out the Triple-A season."
