Time to beat Jason Schmidt.
Show him how great this team is going to be so he will want to pitch here.
I bet he noticed Youngs catch last night. |

I seriously don't know why everyone is scrambling to start game day threads. Actually, everyone should be quarantined from them right now. |

I didn't think anybody would want to start this gameday thread and shoe jumped on it early. Wow, Good luck shoe! We sure do need a win badly. |

Oy ... let's put that first pitch hacking, high "OBP" guy at the top and let the rookies learn from the p.v.'s that go before them in the order. |

Greetings from the Bay Area where it is a lovely day for baseball. I have it on TV here so I can actually see what is going on which helps. |

I forgot the game was on now!
Got to the TV just in time to see the run score! Up on Schmidt 1-0 in the first! Whoo-hoo!
Only bad part is that the computer isn't in the same room as the tv set... so I'm gonna hafta shuttle to post and watch...

I got the TV behind me as I type. I tried setting a mirror to the side of the computer which would reflect what was on the TV, but it was too hard to watch the batter look like he was running to THIRD when he hit the ball. |

Durham could not have got a better pitch to hit. room service. And so, another crooked number in the wrong slot in the first inning.

Can't we just have a relief pitcher pitch the first inning, then let Enrique pitch the 2nd through 7th????? |

Just got home...was listening on the radio and started pounding the steering wheel when he fell behind 2-0 to Sweeney....you just KNEW it was all gonna go to hell again right there.
Time to send Enrique down, or shut him down....but he needs to be out of the rotation a while. His mental cramps in the first inning, and thats what it is, are not going to improve without a timeout here.
NO EXCUSE to not be throwing strikes to Sweeney when Bonds is up next. He is trying to be too fine early in the count...either that, or he just can't execute at all. Either way....take a seat son. |

LOL! On the other hand, that sounds like having a flex-time schedule, where Monday falls on Tuesday. Somehow, it still works out like a Monday...
Well, our lead didn't last long... (sigh...) Can we get to Schmidt again?
And does Enrique have a future in the Dbacks rotation?

He looks like Hennessey did against the Dodgers last weekend. Throwing pitches that did absolutely nothing except coming up fat and screaming to be hit and hit hard. |

I know it's a little optimistic to be thinking this way, but should we option Enrique just to get him off of the playoff roster? |

All we want for Christmas is Starting Pitching, Starting Pitching, oh Starting Pitching.
Gee if we could only have Starting Pitching, then we...could...get through the 1st inn-ing! |

Fast ball after fast ball and Schmidt finally hits one. Even a pitcher can hit those. Threw him one breaker early in the count and that was it. |

That was a better sequence to Vizquel. First pitch breaking strike, second hits the zone low, and runs the third high and Omar pops it up. |

Gnatcasters are commenting how Byrnes is dropping his right shoulder causing him to pop the ball up. They also noted he threw his batting gloves into the stands. |

pop up a good pitch to hit, and two at 'em balls and that's the third.

See that? Shorten up on that shift a little bit. BaBo can still move his carcass. |
