PHOENIX -- Baseball fans throughout most of Arizona can follow the 2007 Arizona Diamondbacks on television when a franchise-best 151 regular season games will be televised. The D-backs announced today that FSN Arizona will televise 78 games (75 regular season contests and three spring training games), 3TV will carry 75 games and the team will appear on national television on a FOX Saturday game when the Atlanta Braves visit Chase Field on July 28.

"We are excited that 3TV and FSN Arizona are able to televise the most games in our franchise's history in 2007," said D-backs President Derrick Hall. "We are committed to working with our media partners to provide the best and most insightful coverage both on and off the field for our fans."

Play-by-play announcer Daron Sutton, who the team signed to a five-year contract last November, will join analyst Mark Grace in the booth for D-backs games on 3TV and FSN Arizona. Hall of Fame announcer Joe Garagiola and former D-backs player Matt Williams will also join the telecasts on select games.

The D-backs season opener on April 2 against the Colorado Rockies in Denver will be the first of 75 games broadcast on 3TV (KTVK), the team's over-the-air flagship station, in 2007. 3TV will also televise the D-backs home opener at Chase Field on April 9 when the Cincinnati Reds visit. Williams and his wife, TV reporter Erika Williams, will also host "Diamondbacks on Deck, presented by Coulter Cadillac" prior to select Saturday and Sunday D-backs games on 3TV. The live 30-minute pre-game show will air before 40 telecasts from the site of the game.

"We are proud of the relationship we have built with the Arizona Diamondbacks as the team's over-the-air broadcast partner," said 3TV President and General Manager Mark Higgins. "We are once again the place to spend your weekends with the D-backs, televising every Sunday game and most of the Saturday games. Along with key primetime games and the weekly "D-Backs Playin' Hardball" show after every Sunday game, 3TV is the place where our viewers have an opportunity to take in the excitement of Arizona Diamondbacks baseball."

FSN Arizona kicks off its regular season D-backs coverage with a 12:05 p.m. broadcast against the Rockies in Denver on April 4. The regional cable network will also televise three spring training games; March 21 vs. the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in Tempe (1 p.m.), March 25 vs. the Rockies at Hi Corbett Field in Tucson (1 p.m.) and March 31 vs. the San Diego Padres at Chase Field (1:30 p.m.). FSN Arizona's 75-game broadcast schedule represents the most games the team's cable flagship has televised in a season.

FSN Arizona will also air the "Arizona Ford Diamondbacks Live" pre-game show hosted by Todd Walsh before 74 telecasts from the site of the game. The "Qwest Diamondbacks Live" post-game show, hosted by Brad Steinke, will follow 110 D-backs games this year, including every telecast carried on FSN Arizona and after select 3TV games. FSN Arizona's pre- and post-game shows will air live from Chase Field for all home game telecasts.

As part of "HD Friday Nights with the D-backs," FSN Arizona will televise 16 Friday evening games in high Definition as well as the April 16 game versus the Dodgers. Seven days during the year will also be dubbed "All Day with the Diamondbacks," with over 10 consecutive hours devoted to D-backs programming, highlighted with a replay of the previous day's game, that day's game telecast, pre- and post-game shows and a prime-time re-air of the day's afternoon game.

"As FSN Arizona celebrates its 10-year anniversary, we are excited to offer the biggest and best D-backs telecast schedule in our history," said Mike Connelly, FSN Arizona Vice President and General Manager. "Whether it's the 78 games, our pre and post-game shows, 'HD Friday Nights with the D-Backs' or 'All Day With The Diamondbacks,' our commitment to localism continues to grow as we offer our 2.8 million viewers in Arizona and New Mexico more Diamondbacks programming than ever before."

All 162 D-backs games in 2007 will be broadcast on Sports 620 KTAR in Phoenix and the Diamondbacks' radio network, with Greg Schulte returning for this 10th season as play-by-play announcer and Tom Candiotti for his second season as radio analyst. Jeff Munn will return as host of the "Arizona Office Technologies Diamondbacks Dugout" pre-game radio show and the "Supercuts Wrap-up" post-game show, as well as fill in as play-by-play announcer. All regular season games will also be broadcast in Spanish on Radio Fiesta 1400 AM KSUN. The team's Spanish voices are Miguel Quintana, Richard Saenz, and Oscar Soria.

The D-backs will broadcast 11 spring training games on the Diamondbacks' radio network and two games on KSUN.

What am I going to do on the other 11 days??? Listen to the radio???

My best guess is that 3TV probably reaches more Phoenix residents (cox cable hasn't reached everybody)...unfortunately that hurts out of state satellite watchers...

The 3 ST games are not factored into the 151.

I grew up "watching" Cardinals baseball on radio. Of course, it was a helluva lot more colorful listening to Harry Caray in his prime than it would be with the current crew of Dbacks broadcasters. Back in those ancient times, about the only TV broadcast we got was CBS' "Game of the Week" on Saturdays... and it would invariably be the MFYs every damn week.

Gonna get real jealous of you guys if the MLB Extra Innings DirecTV exclusive deals does indeed get finalized... I'll be lucky to see 10-15 games if that happens

I'm beginning to dread that Tucson is going to get the shaft when it comes to 3TV broadcast games. Usually these would air on WB Tucson and usually Tucson would only see about 90% of them. Now if you guys remember, The WB and UPN merged to form The CW Network. That was all fine and dandy until CW failed to air almost all of the remaining D-back games including the last season series against the Padres. The CW wants to become part of the big boys alongside NBC, ABC, CBS, and FOX so having some stupid baseball game instead of Veronica Mars would be highly inconvenient.Rolling Eyes Kristen Bell is a fine lady and all but I want my baseball, plain and simple.

So, until I see an announcement, I guess more Reba and The Gilmore Girls for Tucson!

The CW wants to be as rich as the big boys at NBC, ABC, CBS and Fox...

...and that's the only way you'll ever see the Diamondbacks instead of Veronica Mars, et al: By convincing the local sponsors who usually advertise during the times that games are available for TV to forego the regular lineup and switch their advertising to the Diamondbacks broadcasts.

Yes, it'll mean a lot of legwork on the part of the fan base in Tucson; but if y'all make it a point to let the local merchants know they should push the CW station for the Diamondbacks, you can make it happen. Otherwise... Sad

The MLB Extra Innings exclusivity deal with DirecTV does suck fundamentally, but I do happen to be a DTV subscriber, so getting 75 games just on the AZ feed is nice. Combined with out-of-town feeds, MLB EI folks should get over 100 D-Backs games this season.

Well, that sucks!

Someone mentioned the Extra Innings package. Do we get D'backs games in Tucson or are they blacked out too?

Surprisingly, out of the 11 non televised games, only three of them are at Chase Field.

The TV schedule can be downloaded on a PDF file on the D-backs Home Page link. Smile

Living in Tucson, none should be blacked out, because FSN Arizona should be your primary RSN.

However, your viewing of games on KTVK may be limited based on the carriage agreement with Tucson.

If it's any consolation, all 162 Diamondbacks games will be broadcast on Tucson radio affiliate KFFN (1490-AM). Confused

Yup that sucks. I live out in Avra Valley and I cant even get the radio to come in well here. I am thinking of going to satellite radio so I can get MLB on it.

In Gold Canyon KNBR from SF comes in better at night than does KTAR. Fortunately we have DirecTV which comes in just fine.

A couple years ago a wrote a really hate-filled email to the folks at Tucson's WB affiliate regarding their lack of interest in carrying all of the Diamondbacks games. They offered to send me a game on them which was an awfully nice thing to do for someone who just addressed you as 'The Destructor of Baseball'. I never ended up taking them up on the offer.

Here's what I would do to get all the games. Get a dish. Tell them you live at a friend's house in the Phoenix area, and then BAM you get 3TV and every D'backs game possible.
