Getting ready for spring training, Steve Gilbert answers a few questions...
Among them, a passionate plea by Dangerfield: "Please take my Byrnes"!
Quote: |
Why haven't the D-backs locked up Eric Byrnes yet? I hear about arbitration, but how can they not pay the one guy who was clearly a team leader on the field last season what he deserves? With what they paid him last year, they surely cannot argue that the guy deserves a pay raise.

Overall, excellent answers by Gilbert on Byrnes, Hudson's contact, and the closer situation. His take on Hudson's one year deal was worth reading...

Care to make a signature wager on this? Say with a minimum games stipulation?

Thank God for Steve Gilbert, gradually educating the casual fan...

Up your wazoo, Judge Smells, I'm a man of my word.
ou didn't call me on anything he ends at 825 ops, combined with his defense, we're talking all star. He ends at 825-900 we're talking all star. My projection's out there.
That's 50 pts over your projection, he does that we're having a great year. I'll send 100 no matter to phoenix children's, f he's over 825 ops. If he's under, I'll send the 250. That's my pledge, and I'll show the photocopied check.

The over under is .8275, and since you never responded further in that thread, (except later to talk about Hippasus and Asus) I assumed you blew it off. You silence and absence from the time I posted my online donation receipt was somewhat conspicuous. |
