Free agent Ronnie Belliard is at the center of an extortion case after allegedly having an affair that resulted in a pregnancy.
Belliard clearly has other things on his mind than his lack of a job. Federal authorities in St. Louis say George Edwards tried to get an athlete to pay $150,000 to keep quiet about a sexual liaison last fall with Edwards' daughter, Laura L. Edwards, which allegedly resulted in a pregnancy. Belliard, who is married and has two children, hasn't been charged with any crimes.
