Well, that would suck if true. I hope it's not.
Isn't much else I can say. Obviously it's unsubstantiated. Doesn't mean it's not true. Doesn't mean it is. Just means nobody here knows. |

Hmm, you'd hope the DBacks had a medical check before the trade/extension. |

I know. I hope Davis has enough of a conscience to not keep secrets and cheat us out of 20 whatever million if his comment makes a difference to the medical staff. If it doesn't, then it really doesn't matter. |

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the Diamondbacks forgot to scout Davis or give him a physical. I mean, what's a paltry $22M?
The souces are hilarious as well (and questioned in the comments section). "My ex bf's mother's uncle's gf said this friend of a bartender said that Davis said..." "Professional writer"? Read the comments....
AND, say DD was in his cups and feeling low... knowing he was on the trading block... why not say something tragic and bitter, perhaps sarcastic? I've never known that to happen before...
I think it's a tidbit that is interesting enough to be brought to attention, but I question biggerunit's obessive and compulsive need to piss on the franchise... as exhibited by his glee at shooting down Davis.
From comments at BTF:

Since 2004, left handed strikeout leaders are Santana 748, Johnson 673 and Davis 533. |
Just a little factoid. Hey, we've got two of those guys!
Also from those comments:

As a follow up, Doug Davis isn't exactly Mr. Congeniality. Part of what led to his exodus from Texas (how lyrical of me) was his testy personality. Doug's demeanor grated on more then a few in the Brewers organization. |
Ooh... another LH badass! With something to prove. Me likey better than donut carts and dookies.
I think Davis will be fine. Eveland is what I'm looking forward to, though.

i don't think anybody here really expects davis to be a "savior." personally, i expect him to take the ball every fifth day and at the end of the year, to have put up an average to slightly above average season. IMHO, eveland was the key to this trade.
