Found this footage on youtube.com
Anybody know where he's starting in 2007?
Pitching gurus: what do you think of his delivery/mechanics?
Dallas Buck
EDIT: I didn't realize there was another Dallas Buck thread. I don't know how to move posts into other threads.

he's quick to the plate, good tempo, and i like the arm slot. i don't like his landing spot for his lead foot, though. he's trying real hard to stay closed, it looks like. i'd be interested to see if this is a tactic to hide the ball more from LHBs -- did they hurt him more than other batters?
baseball cube doesn't have a page for him. anyone have college splits?

Holy cow, the kinetic guys looking at the stress he places on elbow, from improper mechanics are making faces that look like they're sucking on lemons.

Looks to me like his arm is "stuck" behind him too long and his body is too far in front of his arm as he comes down.
Is that what you are talking about Rodney? |

IIRC, he chose NOT to have surgery this offseason?
Did you compare him to the Max Scherzer vids I posted?

arm slot/angle, and arm thrower.

I agree. It does appear that his body comes forward first, and his arm is behind. I'm no mechanics expert, but I'd imagine this would cause additional stress. |

watching the vids in between touchdown passes by Brady...his arm slot is so bad, maybe from throwing a slider, it may rip his elbow apart. Now aside from that, he's fixable, and his natural arm throwing angle looks like it provides for good movement left/right tilt/sink, or sinker. He could start throwing more with more legs, which with arm angle, and increase velocity. I'd get him away from the slider, and get him throwing more of a cutter.
