it like it is.
On Sportsbeat tonight Jack WIlson had some strong comments about Jose Castillo during an interview with Stan from PirateFest.
Stan Savran asked Jack if Sanchez started at 2nd and Bautista or Castillo at 3rd if it would affect him because they formed arguably the best double play comobo in the NL.....Jack's response was "NO. Until Castillo shows up mature and ready to be the 2nd basemen everyday and make the adjustments he needs to make that's the way it is going to be. In my mind I do not think he has the starting job on this team right now. I saw alot of things over the last couple years(in reference to Castillo) with lazy things happening during the game. There is no laziness with Freddy at any part of a baseball game, we hope Jose shows up ready to work and ready to get on the same page. If not you'll have Freddy at 2nd base. AND THATS JUST THE BOTTOM LINE. As a team and a coaching staff a message will be relayed to Jose early on that we need you to be ready and it is time to step up and be the player we need you to be. Right now Freddy is my 2nd baseman and the guy I can trust 100% to get the job done. Castillo has to show me he can get the job done. If he is slim down and ready to work he is going to have a good year and if it is the other way around we are going to have some problems."
Pirates in 07?

Not now that they've missed out on the pitching grandeur of Weaver.
They've got a couple of decent players but no depth. They're like the D-Backs of 05 or 06. A few bright spots but way too many holes. I think Maholm is they're second best SP and Levski grades him a "Meh".

nady next year. Could have a silver slugger year. Last year, he started out on fire, granted he was in an overlooked position with the Mets, but then got the appendicitis. Then got hit, which affected his swing. Maholm's 4.5 qualified. That pick up of LaRoche, with Sanchez means, watch out for Bay. He would of have 50+ if he played in our park.
