Utility player also being pursued by Angles, Rangers, Pirates

No kidding, the "Angles." That's how it read at msnbc.com. Very Happy

Three years, $20 million.

At mlb.com. they're saying it's all done except for dotting the i's and crossing the t's.

Wonder if it's too late to offer them Eric Byrnes?

They could attempt to attach it to the/a RJ deal. If they can move his $5M salary they can take on more of RJ's salary and the calibur of talent traded would lesson, as well as the improved offense from Hairston over Byrnes and whatever young talent they would receive in the deal. I have no doubt they could spin it. Even if they could not, no one would remember by the all-star break anyway.
