It would be interesting to see Young called up, but to what end?
We've already got Hairston warming the bench, rather than playing the OF. What, is someone concerned he's lonely, and needs Young to keep him company? Better Young should stay and play in Tucson...
On the other hand, if a "pv" OF is going bye-bye...

I don't think this move makes much sense outside of Shawn Green getting dealt for minor league talent. Or another outfielder obviously. Now that I'm thinking, Estrada was rumored for a DL stint, but that makes no sense on Young getting called up. I think our "source" needs to give up a little more info. |

I think you guys are right. Maybe "The Fan" is really Josh Byrnes in disguise.

I'm personally waiting to see Doug Slaten get called up. In 15 IP in Tucson, he's given up just one earned run, that's a .60 ERA! and the entire year between AAA and AA, he's pitching a 1.52 ERA |

Apparently the OF slot for St Louis is filled by Preston Wilson, so the Mets are the lone hope for a Green-ridance. |

The interesting situation for the D-Backs will happen this offseason though.
Not only do we have to make a choice on Green, but Gonzo will need to be dealt with, Byrnes heads to arbitration again, and Scott Hairston will be out of options. |

It was The Fan who had the CQ call up. I remember being skeptical as it was something that was relatively easy to predict. Calling up Young right now is not so if it happens in the next two days, a tip o' the cap. |

Well Young didn't play in last night's game in Tacoma.

While dying for baseball info on talk radio on a driving trip this afternoon, I tuned into 1060AM and they seem to have changed their handle to "The FAN" or at least that's the handle they were using ilo the Duece while I was listening. Coincidence?
BTW They mentioned Counsell going to Detroit. |
