From Rotoworld (DFP)
Quote:
Tigers gM Dave Dombrowski told WXYT-AM on Wednesday the team had concluded Joel Zumaya's wrist/forearm troubles at the end of the season came from playing the Playstation 2 game "Guitar Hero," not anything pitching related.

It's only the beginning; just wait until next year when all of the Wii-related injuries begin to strike. The Tigers asked Zumaya to stop playing the video game, and he complied. Zumaya was pain-free during the World Series and should be 100 percent next year,

Sadly, I can relate to that. PS2, Grand Theft Auto - Vice City and my right thumb. I had to take about a week off in the middle of the game and it was horrible. One I finish a game I can walk away from it no problem. But once I start it I can't stop until it's finished.

Not that it will do any good...

How many athletes have been injured while playing a pick-up game of b-ball, or while riding a motorcycle, even though their contracts have had language banning activities of this sort?

Sure, a contract clause won't stop anyone from doing those activities--but it will give the club a way out of a contract in the event of injury. Just ask Aaron Boone.
