So I'm in Pensacola and went to a double header with the Baybears and the Cincinnati Blue Wahoos. Neither team seemed to have much viable talent, save for a few pitchers on both sides. Baybears won both games.
I did have an unexpected surprise as I got my picture with Tony Dovoloni from "Dancing with the Stars". He is in town for a touring performance tonight in downtown Pensacola.
I will try to attach the photo, but havent attempted this from my iPad.

Yes actually they have a very vibrant downtown. :lol:Me and the hubby are seriously considering retiring here in 5 years when he can take early retirement. The only deterrent is the cost of housing there..... Well that and a little thing called hurricanes!

What is the deal with Sean Jamieson?

I don't pay attention to the Dback prospects beyond maybe the top 10, if that, but I remember occasionally checking on Jake Lamb monster season in AA last year and seeing Jamieson put up decent number (especially obp) as a SS. I presume he got hurt about halfway through the season and was shut down. He was old for the league last year at 25 and he is back in AA this year and hitting again granted he is 26. He out hit Drury at AA this year. All I can find on him via google is that we got him for Drew in the trade with the A's in mid 2012.

He is basically a non-prospect as far as i can tell but I am not sure why. He knows how to get on base and if he could handle 2b at all then maybe he is worth a shot.

BayBears attendance at all-time low

Really sorry to see this... and they have had pretty strong teams there.

One big problem is the area is saturated with Southern League teams. The team could pull fans from Peniscola and Biloxi but now they have their own teams. They also are new teams with fancy new parks. Reading the comments from the GM and talking about Birmingham and leading the league in attendance last few years, I can say for many years this wasn't the case but a new downtown ballpark is the reason instead of playing further out of town. I think the ONLY thing that saves Mobile baseball is a new park either on the water or downtown like some of the other thriving parks.
