Scherzer gave up 7 runs and 4 HRs in 5 ip today against the Cubs. Blair shut down the Cubs last time out, going 6 innings and giving up 1 run on 2 hits (Both Blair and Scherzer had 3 walks in their respective outings).
This might not turn out well...
Trivia time: Who was the other Blair we have had?

Wind blowing in at Turner. Very unusual

Starts 0-2 and goes to about a 10 pitch walk. Great AB by Goldy.

Goldy's SB sets up the RBI hit by Peralta.

Goldy not getting thrown out there was a gift and it leads to a run

That double error that let Peralta score was also nice

As bad as the Dbacks have been this year, this is like facing a AAA team while the Dbacks still have MLB talent

I wouldn't be surprised if all the seats were empty. What has happened to the Braves shouldn't be allowed. Slap in the face to all those Georgia fans.

Taking a look at the standings, it looks like the Central and East are MUCH stronger than the west this year, so if this holds, no wild cards are coming out of the NL West. We will have to win the division to get in the playoffs. I would still be happy with a season over .500 but that may be too much to ask.

Win tonight doesn't mean a whole lot. You're supposed to beat teams with a winning percentage lower than yours. We should sweep this series and maybe win one in Colorado next week. At least we're not like the Gnats who have given up a 12 run inning to the Mets and a 13 run inning to the Rockies recently.

You could hear the velcro rip on the batting gloves when they adjusted them last night. I have never heard that on a tv broadcast before.

Chip Caray, Joe Simpson, and Tom Glavine on the Braves network tonight
Like this matchup. With Julio Teheran pitching, this might actually be a game
Bravescasters looking for a strong showing from Shelby tonight and forget his previous malfunctions in Arizona

And yeah, they are all bubbly over fleecing the Dbacks, even though they gave up Miller.

Keys for Teheran is to be agressive with his pitches and cover the zone
Goldy still hitting only .233. This has got to change for this team to have any hope of a decent season
Adonis Garcia was sent to AAA today with EI coming back off the DL
78* light breeze at game time
JT goes 0-2 right out of the gate. both perfect on the outside corner
misses the killer slider 2-2. twice 3-2. Liner to center right at Mallex.
Shelby Miller putting pine tar on the back of his shoes so his pant legs, all the way down, won't ride up. Fashion Statement.
double to left for Lamb
quick 0-2 on Goldy, Teheran continues to be razor sharp on the outside
3-2 now. EVERYTHING on the outside or way high.
swing and a miss on the killer low outside slider. out of the zone.
Peralta grounds to second. 1 LOB

Bravescasters discussing how Goldy needs to be more aggressive due to his low averages, but apparently the Dbacks want him to take more pitches. Now you can't have it both ways. More evidence the Dbacks hot shot bosses don't have a clue.
take pitches and you're standing 0-2. Goldy has been a good first pitch hitter in the past. If he gets his pitch on the first one, go after it. If the Dbacks don't want him to do that, then they are frauds if they think they can coach hitting
